Royal Canin renal special will also help to reduce oxalate stone formation, through its low level of calcium and vitamin D, and its urine alkalising properties.

- Enhanced palatibility - Enhanced palatability helps promote spontaneous food intake in cats with renal failure.
- Low phosphorus - Phosphorus retention leads to the development of secondary hyperparathyroidism and progression of the renal failure. Limiting dieary phosphorus intake is an essential part of nutritional support.
- Vascular support - Increase in glomerular pressure leads to a progressive decline in GFR. Supplementation with long chain omega-3 acids (especially EPA and DHA) supports a lower glomerular pressure
- Digestive security - Increased uraemia may induce the formation of gastric and intestinal mucosal ulcers. The combination of zeolite and FOS helps protect the mucosa.
- Digestive Security - Nutrients which support a balanced digestive system.
