Metacam 0.5mg/ml Oral Suspension for Cats 15ml
Metacam Oral Suspension for cats is used to give relief from inflammation and pain in muscle and joint problems such as arthritis in older animals giving them a longer and better quality of life. It is also used to aid recovery from surgery by reducing post operative pain and swelling
Metacam oral suspension for cats is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for use in cats for:
- the alleviation of inflammation and pain in chronic musculo-skeletal disorders
- the alleviation of mild to moderate post-operative pain and inflammation following surgical procedures, e.g. orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery.
For longer term treatment, once clinical response has been observed (after > 4 days), the dose of Metacam can be adjusted to the lowest effective individual dose bearing in mind that the degree of pain and inflammation associated with chronic musculo-skeletal disorders may vary over time.
A clinical response is usually seen within 7 days. Treatment should be discontinued after 14 days at the latest if no clinical improvement is apparent.
You should use this product as directed by your veterinary surgeon
You should carefully read all product packaging and labels prior to use
Avoid the introduction of contamination during use
Do not use in pregnant or lactating animals
Do not use in animals suffering from gastro-intestinal disorders such as irritation and haemorrhage, impaired hepatic, cardiac or renal function and haemorrhagic disorders.
Do not use in cats less than 6 weeks of age
