Metacam Chewable tablets for dogs are used to give relief from inflammation and pain in muscle and joint problems such as arthritis in older animals giving them a longer and better quality of life . They are also used to aid recovery from surgery by reducing post operative pain and swelling.
This product is sold as single tablets
Metacam (meloxicam) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for use in dogs to alleviate inflammation and pain in chronic and acute musculo-skeletal disorders.
For longer term treatment, once clinical response has been observed (after > 4 days), the dose of Metacam can be adjusted to the lowest effective individual dose bearing in mind that the degree of pain and inflammation associated with chronic musculo-skeletal disorders may vary over time.
A clinical response is usually seen within 3-4 days. Treatment should be discontinued after 10 days at the latest if no clinical improvement is apparent
