Spoil your pooch over the festive season with this delicious recipe for turkey & cranberry Christmas dog biscuits! We all like to indulge in tasty foods over the festive period, and it’s only fair that our pups can too! Using just a few ingredients, these Christmas dog treats are super easy to make, and they’re sure to get tails wagging.

As with all treats, make sure you feed these Christmas dog biscuits to your pet in moderation. We’re all guilty of going a little overboard over the holidays, but it’s important not to overfeed your pet. These Christmas dog treats are meant to be just that – a special treat!

How to Make Christmas Dog Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 3 and a half cups of wholemeal flour
  • 1 cup of cooked turkey mince
  • 1 cup of dried cranberries
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Approx 1 cup of low salt chicken stock (made to packet instructions)

Method:

1. Pre-heat your oven to 200ºC.

2. Start by mixing the flour and baking powder together in a bowl.

3. Add your cooked turkey mince and cranberries to the bowl and mix together with the flour.

4. Add the egg and olive oil.

5. The next step is to slowly add in the chicken stock. The exact amount needed may vary depending on how dry your turkey mince is and the size of the egg.

Tip: It’s best to add the chicken stock in small dribbles as you combine the other ingredients to form the dough to ensure you get the best consistency. If it’s too wet you will struggle to roll the dough out, and if it’s too dry your Christmas dog biscuits will crumble.

6. Once you’ve formed a dough, roll it out onto a floured surface.

7. Here comes the creative part! Grab some cookie cutters and get shaping those Christmas dog biscuits. We opted for small festive shapes but you can do whatever you like.

8. Bake times will vary depending on the thickness and shape of your dog biscuit. We baked ours for 20 minutes but it’s important to check them regularly due to the high sugar content of the cranberries.

9. Once fully baked, allow your Christmas dog biscuits to cool.

10. Let your pooch enjoy!

As well as being lots of fun to bake, we just know these tasty biscuits will delight your dog! We hope you enjoy following our recipe. If you’re looking for more Christmas dog treats, why not check out our range?
