Dog Ice Cream Recipe

When the sun in shining, there is nothing better than a refreshing ice cream! We’re sure you’d agree that our pups shouldn’t miss out on the fun this summer, so here’s an easy dog ice cream recipe that you can whip up at home! It’s super simple to do, with only a handful of ingredients.

When choosing your ingredients, bare in mind a couple of things. Ensure that the peanut butter you select doesn’t have xylitol listed as an ingredient. Xylitol is sometimes added to peanut butter (as well as sweet treats like cakes) as a sugar alternative. While it’s fine for humans, xylitol is toxic for dogs, so make sure you avoid it. There are plenty of peanut butters without xylitol in, just be sure to check the ingredients.

You should also choose a yoghurt without any additional ingredients. Plain yoghurt with no added sugar or flavourings is best. Plain Greek yoghurt and plain kefir are also suitable alternatives. Again, make sure there’s no xylitol in it.

Now, onto the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 tbsp plain yoghurt
  • Dog treats, crushed (optional)
