What to See at the National Pet Show

What to See at the National Pet Show

Are you planning to attend the National Pet Show this year? This is a popular, family orientated pet event that is always great fun.

NB: There are actually two venues for this event – the ExCel in London on 6th-7th May and the NEC in Birmingham on 4th-5th November. For this particular blog post, we’re talking about the May event in London.

Here’s what to see and do at this year’s show!

Animal Handling Teepee Tents

Kids will love the opportunity to get up close and personal with creatures in the animal handling tents. There are two additions for 2017- one for dogs and one for reptiles.

It’s also a chance for them to learn more about what it’s like to have them as pets, and they can ask questions of experts about taking care of them too. If your child is showing interest in having a dog or reptile as a pet, this is a great way for them to find out more about the different options and how to be a responsible pet owner.

Dog and Cat Zones

Want to know more about which different dog and cat breeds could be right for your lifestyle? In the Dog and Cat Zones, you can talk to specialist breeders who will answer any questions you may have and give you the lowdown on life as a dog or cat owner to a variety of diiferent breeds.

Secret Rabbit Garden and Guinea Pig Trail

Thinking of adding a small animal to your home? Check out the Secret Rabbit Garden (which is a lot bigger this year given its popularity last year) and the Guinea Pig Trail in the Small Furries Zone to see adorably cute bunnies and guinea pigs exploring their specially made environment. You can also chat to small animal experts to find out what to expect if you become a bunny or guinea pig owner.

Dog Activity Ring

If you love the competitive events at Crufts, don’t miss the Dog Activity Ring. Here, you’ll find agility displays, obedience displays, a Metropolitan Police Dogs display, Freestyle Dog Dancing displays and the Scruffts Crossbreed competition.

See Animal Experts

“Supervet” Noel Fitzpatrick and TV presenter Michaela Strachan will be hosting live events at the National Pet Show. Michaela will be presenting the Superdogs Live Show, which showcases some of the most amazing dogs you could hope to see!

Pets as Therapy

Cuddle up to Doug the Pug Therapy Dog in the Pets as Therapy area and learn more about how therapy dogs play an important role in helping to treat and support people.

Shopping

Over 100 pet brands will be exhibiting at the National Pet Show so it’s an ideal chance to treat your pet to some new goodies or stock up their favourite treats.
