Great Toys for Pets

Looking for some great toys for pets? Something that your dog or cat might like this Christmas (or any time of year!)? Toys can be a fun and easy way to help your pet to be a bit more active and they’re also a good chance to get a bit of extra bonding time in.

We’ve rounded up some of our favourites in this post to give you some inspiration for toys that your pet might like.

Here are 10 great toys for pets and a bit about how they work!

Toys for Dogs

There are lots of fun toys for dogs, many of which are also interactive. Here are our pick of some of them:

AFP Interactives Dog Fetch N Treat

This toy is designed to help your dog to get a bit more fun physical activity into their day. It just needs you to fill it up with treats or food and dispenses them every time your dog returns the ball back to it.

Kong Air Yellow Squeaker Dumbell Medium

This toy is made from a non abrasive tennis ball-esque material that is kind to your dog’s mouth and teeth when they’re playing with it. The ‘erratic’ bounce makes it fun to use (and keeps your dog guessing!) and as an added bonus, it also floats in water so it can be used as a toy in water.

Kong Wubba Tug Toy Puppy

This toy is a great choice for puppies and is an interactive one that you and your pup can enjoy together. Underneath the surface, it contains two balls – a tennis ball and a squeaker ball. It can also be a good throwing toy thanks to the addition of the tail.

Snowman Rope Tennis Ball Christmas Dog Toy

This multi purpose toy can be used as a tug toy (thanks to the rope element) and a fetch toy (thanks to the ‘tennis ball’ attached to the rope). There’s even a cute and cuddly toy at the top of the rope for comfort and snuggles.

Green Interactive Dog Feeder

This toy is a fun way to transform your dog’s feeding times into a challenge that makes them work a bit harder for their rewards.

As an added bonus, slowing down the speed at which they eat also helps them to have less potential for bloating and indigestion.

It just requires you to scatter some food (wet or dry) onto the grass shaped toy while your dog figures out how best to get it out!

Kong Bounzer Extra Large Dog Toy

The Kong Bounzer toy is one of the newer additions to the Kong range and is designed to compress when it’s grabbed before reverting back to its original shape. It’s the ultimate throw toy, especially with the handle. As well as Extra Large, it also comes in Medium and Large version.

Toys for Cats

Cats don’t have to miss out on the fun! These toys are designed for cats and are even interactive in many cases.

AFP Interactives Cat Flutter Bug

Cats love prey based games and this one should keep them amused as they try to catch the butterfly. It’s stimulating as well as encouraging your cat to be more active.

Petface Christmas Teaser

This is another toy that stimulates their prey instincts, this time from a chasing perspective.

Kong Catnip Refillable Rat Cat Toy

If your cat loves catnips, this is the toy for them! You can even refill it with catnip once stores get low.

Ancol Acticat Plastic Playground

This is far more than just a toy – it’s a whole play station! Your cat can get endless fun chasing the ball around the ball track and there’s also the pompom toy if they get bored of that.

Kong Kickeroo Tiger

The Kong toys aren’t just for dogs; this cat version is great for stimulating play and kicking motions/skills so you can think of it as more than just your average toy!

Whatever toys you use with your pets, just bear in mind that very small ones can potentially be a choking hazard so it’s important to always make sure that toys are size appropriate, especially for puppies.
